You've heard that diamonds are a girl's best friend, but on the evening of April 17, 2010, diamonds will be a kid's best friend. Denim & Diamonds will bring together Seguin residents to enjoy an upscale event in a casual atmosphere, while supporting an organization that impacts thousands of children in the Seguin ISD.

The fabulous festivities will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m., and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. The menu consists of a dinner by Nash Family Catering. Attendees will dine al fresco as dinner will be served on tables situated right on the diamond on Smokey Joe Williams Field in Fairgrounds Park, with the Seguin High School baseball and softball teams serving as the wait staff in full uniform. Along with dinner, the evening will include live music by the Texas State University Jazz Combo, as well as an exclusive live auction at 8 p.m. showcasing spa, vacation and dinner packages.

What to wear? Your style is the dress code! Dress up your favorite jeans with dazzling jewelry and accessories. Guys, tailor your best sports coat with your most stylish denim. The most important thing is that you come for a fun night of food, music and bidding to benefit local kids.

Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at Gift and Gourmet, or by calling 379-0325. The baseball diamond isn’t the only kind of diamond that will be present at the event. Diamond raffle tickets will be sold for $20 each for the chance to win a dazzling, one carat diamond ring and matching earrings appraised at $8,000. You need not be present to win.
